Woodward, which started in Loves Park in 1870, is an international supplier for the aerospace industry. When the company decided to expand in 2012, it entertained offers from Wisconsin and South Carolina before choosing to build the manufacturing campus on 75 acres at the northwest corner of Harlem and Perryville roads in Loves Park. The expansion would allow the company to double its workforce of 1,500 within 10 years. The project included a private investment of more than $46 million to build the 339,000-square-foot facility.

Fehr Graham was hired to help with site planning, landscape design, hardscape and water management services. Our design centered on ease of transportation to and from the manufacturing facility and offered internal trails that link to regional bike and pedestrian paths.

The grounds connect to Rock Cut State Park and feature oak savannahs, native prairie and intelligent water management techniques provide a productive and pleasant work environment.
